Thermography

Winter is approaching. This is the ideal time to investigate whether the thermal envelope of your building shows any defects. Thermography is a powerful measurement method for detecting thermal bridges and air leaks in the building envelope.

Detecting thermal bridges and air leaks

The cause of possible draught and comfort complaints can be accurately identified using thermographic measurements. A temperature difference between the interior and exterior is essential. That’s why the winter period is an excellent time to carry out thermographic investigations.
Air leaks in the building envelope can be detected using an infrared camera by creating an overpressure or underpressure situation inside the building. This can be done using a blower door setup or the building’s own air handling system. When a building is under pressure, air leaks become clearly visible in the thermographic images.
