Low-frequency noise

Low-frequency sound is sound with a frequency below 125 Hz. Despite having a relatively low sound level, this type of sound can be perceived as disturbing or even burdensome. It easily penetrates walls and windows and is often difficult to dampen. Moreover, it is not always audible to everyone, but can still be felt as vibrations or a pressing sensation in the ears.

Sources of low-frequency sound can include installations, ventilation systems, transformers, industrial processes, or traffic flows. Because low-frequency sound behaves differently from normal audible sound, it requires specialized research and tailored solutions.
